Mission Statement:
PAPA supports the youth of Phoenixville in becoming successful and productive adults through programs that have a positive impact on self-esteem and life-skills development.

Vision Statement:
PAPA is an independent, community-centered innovator of enrichment opportunities for ALL youth.

PAPA offers the only formal, structured programs for at-risk youth aged 7-17 in the Phoenixville Area. Primarily a volunteer, grassroots organization, PAPA works closely with the Phoenixville Area School District, the Borough of Phoenixville, and other local organizations to create a positive, effective, and motivating force in the community.

PAPA's academic programs offer a safe haven during out-of-school hours where students receive homework help, life- and social-skills development, and most importantly, support to achieve excellence. Our academic programs serve approximately 150 students each year.

PAPA's athletic programs help youth build solid foundations for physical skills, good sportsmanship, and positive self-esteem. Volunteers dedicate their time to working with kids throughout the year on sports such as basketball, lacrosse, and baseball. Our athletic programs serve approximately 400 children each year.

History: Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) was founded in 1995, in the spirit of the Million Man March. For more then ten years, PAPA has grown from five individuals committed to an idea into a posiitve, effective, and motivating force in the Phoenixville Community. PAPA is primarily a volunteer, grass-roots organization that is the sole formal, structured program for at-risk youth between the ages of seven and seventeen in the Phoenixville area.
